Pancake Bar | Easy Brunch Ideas

Hello everyone! When I was a little kid I must confess that the only time when I was involved at my parents’ kitchen was on Sunday Mornings to prepare homemade pancakes! It made me happy! …and it still does, a LOT! I consider myself a brunch lover and its whole concept, specially because it is a great opportunity to bring people together.

On one occasion I had to host a brunch and I started to think: what can I do? …what can I do?

And… suddenly I started to do a research on Pinterest to get some ideas. There where so so many options that making a decision was getting even more complicated. After a couple of days I had the greatest idea: Why not to do a Pancake bar? After all I’m an expert with pancakes and it is extremely easy for me!  My only challenge was to focus on the details.

Before the day of the brunch, I prepared the decorative complements of the pancake bar. The main idea was to create the labels of the ingredients: syrups, creams and toppings. For this you don’t need to invest, creativity consists in doing great things with what you already have. So taking in consideration this quotes, I took a cereal box and cutted it in rectangles from different sizes. Then I proceeded to paint it with pink painting. The next step was to take a paper and cut it in different shapes and mark the edge with a black marker, also write the name of the category of ingredients inside each label. Also you  can print it if it is easier for you 🙂

After this, I had to choose what ingredients to buy for the pancake bar. The more the options are, the better it will look. On my supermarket list I included the following ingredients:

For this ocassion I decided to make the pancakes in the traditional way. Why? Because I wanted my guests to play and have fun creating the pancakes on their own way!

On the day of the brunch, before starting to make the pancakes, I decided to decorate the balcony in order to earn time. I proceded to place the toppings, the syrups, the creams, the labels, the plates, the chairs, etc… I also decorated it with plants, a portrait and a nice tray from Ikea. This was the result:
